Thomas was born in Québec, where he grew up, went to school, did a variety of not-always-so-interesting things and decided to become a writer. The downside of this decision was that it would be years before his chosen vocation would be known to the public—Thomas was for a long time a writer in his eyes only (which is not the most elegant way of being a writer).

In the meantime, he studied philosophy and then translation. He moved to Montréal and became, in the following order, a translator, a philosophy professor, a published writer (finally!) and a father (already?). Those five years in Montréal were productive ones and Thomas has a small island of grey hair to show for it (an island whose authorities seem to have imperialist ideas about the neighbouring territories).

Then he returned to Québec and to translation. In spring 2018, he published his first book of non-fiction, and he will publish his third novel by the end of the year—you should read them. He sometimes writes for the Edgar blog. He is perhaps not as funny as he thinks he is, but a pretty nice guy all the same.
